Nude sunbathing in London: Walthamstow Marshes

The nude area is unofficial and at your own risk, and is also known as a gay cruising area - so be prepared to be cover up at any moment, however it can be a nice place to while away a sunny quiet afternoon.

To get there first get to the Lee Valley Ice  Centre in Walthamstow.

To the left of the entrance a path to the left leads towards the marshes.

Continue past the bridge on the left....

...and sign on the right....

...until you get to this board walked path on the right. Follow the boardwalk to the end.

Keep following the path straight across from the board walk.

There is a short climb up onto a much wider path, turn left.

Under the railway bridge take the less well used path to the left.

This area is shown below. It is a triangle bordered by railway tracks on all sides.

The area is a mass of brambles, crossed by numerous paths. If you wander for a while you will find one of the many patches of ground that may be used for sunbathing. It would be best to find one as secluded as possible, and as I said before be prepared to cover up quickly.

Directions to Eastney Nudist Beach

Get to the car park at the corner of Fort Cumberland Road and Melville Road - see map below for location and the route to the beach from the car park.

Here are some photographs of the route from the car park to the beach so you know you're going the right way.

View of the car park on the left, go down the road to the right of the car park

At the end of that road a small lane to the right leads to the beach
Once you're on the beach turn left and you're pretty much at the start of the nudist section - walk a bit further down for more space.

Body Painting

The Daily Telegraph shows a picture of a body painted woman.

"At first glance, this may look like a landscape painted on canvas. But on closer inspection, the rolling green hills are actually painted onto a woman's naked body. Craig Tracy spent hours painstakingly painting the woman's curves to create the optical illusion."

Ethical Exhibitionism

It's good to be naked. Sometimes it's good to be naked in front of people. Sometimes it's good to be naked in times and places that other people don't expect it. How do you do this without causing offence or getting arrested?

Welcome to the journey!
